Delete your account

You can delete your Metchr account yourself at any time, directly in the app. It takes less than a minute. After you request it, you have 30 days to cancel the deletion — after that your data is permanently erased.

In 4 steps

Open Metchr and sign in — in the app, or in a browser at app.metchr.com.
Go to Profile → “Settings & privacy”.
Scroll to “Account & Data” and tap “Delete My Account”.
Type DELETE into the field to confirm. (That word is deliberately the same in every language.)

You are signed out straight away. Your account is locked from that moment and is fully deleted once the 30 days have passed.

Save your data first (optional)

Deletion cannot be undone. If you want to keep a copy of your data, tap “Export My Data” in the same section beforehand. You will get a JSON file containing everything stored under your account.

Cancelling the deletion

Just sign in again within the 30 days. The app shows you the scheduled deletion date and a “Cancel deletion” button. Your account works normally again immediately afterwards.

What happens to your data

Deleted	Your profile (nickname, handle, bio, profile picture, date of birth), every metch you created including its photos and videos, your participations and requests, likes, friendships, one-to-one conversations with all their messages, notifications, personalization and interaction data, and the devices registered for push notifications. Your login at our authentication service Auth0 is deleted as well, together with the email address and name held there. If you signed in with Google or Apple, this ends the connection on our side; the authorization you granted stays listed in that account until you remove it there — in your Google account's security settings under your connections to third-party apps, or in your Apple ID settings under “Sign in with Apple”.
Anonymized	Messages you wrote in other people's metch chats. They remain as “[deleted]” so the conversation stays readable for everyone else — your name is no longer attached to them.
Retained	Only what we are legally required to keep. The periods are listed in Section 6 of the Privacy Policy. Technical backup copies are overwritten on a rolling basis.

Locked out of your account?

Email us at support@metchr.com from the address you registered with, using the subject “Delete account”. We verify the request and delete your account within the statutory period of one month.

If you signed in with Apple and chose “Hide My Email”, you cannot send mail from the relay address we hold. Write to us from your real address instead and include your Metchr @handle together with the @privaterelay.appleid.com address shown in your Apple ID settings, so we can match the request to your account.

Konto löschen

Du kannst dein Metchr-Konto jederzeit selbst löschen, direkt in der App. Das dauert weniger als eine Minute. Nach der Anfrage hast du noch 30 Tage Zeit, die Löschung zu widerrufen — danach werden deine Daten endgültig gelöscht.

In 4 Schritten

Metchr öffnen und anmelden — in der App oder im Browser unter app.metchr.com.
Profil → „Einstellungen & Privatsphäre“ öffnen.
Zum Bereich „Konto & Daten“ scrollen und auf „Mein Konto löschen“ tippen.
Zur Bestätigung DELETE in das Feld eintippen und bestätigen. (Dieses Wort ist bewusst in allen Sprachen gleich.)

Danach wirst du automatisch abgemeldet. Dein Konto ist ab diesem Moment gesperrt und wird nach Ablauf der 30 Tage vollständig gelöscht.

Vorher deine Daten sichern (optional)

Die Löschung lässt sich nicht rückgängig machen. Wenn du eine Kopie deiner Daten behalten möchtest, tippe vorher im selben Bereich auf „Meine Daten exportieren“. Du bekommst eine JSON-Datei mit allen zu deinem Konto gespeicherten Daten.

Löschung widerrufen

Melde dich innerhalb der 30 Tage einfach wieder an. Die App zeigt dir dann das geplante Löschdatum und einen Button „Löschung abbrechen“. Dein Konto ist danach sofort wieder normal nutzbar.

Was mit deinen Daten passiert

Wird gelöscht	Dein Profil (Nickname, Handle, Bio, Profilbild, Geburtsdatum), alle von dir erstellten Metches inklusive Fotos und Videos, deine Teilnahmen und Anfragen, Likes, Freundschaften, Einzelunterhaltungen mit sämtlichen Nachrichten, Benachrichtigungen, Personalisierungs- und Interaktionsdaten sowie deine für Push-Benachrichtigungen registrierten Geräte. Ebenfalls gelöscht wird dein Login bei unserem Authentifizierungsdienst Auth0 samt der dort hinterlegten E-Mail-Adresse und deinem Namen. Hast du dich mit Google oder Apple angemeldet, endet damit die Verbindung auf unserer Seite; die von dir erteilte Freigabe bleibt in dem jeweiligen Konto eingetragen, bis du sie dort entfernst — in den Sicherheitseinstellungen deines Google-Kontos unter den Verbindungen zu Drittanbieter-Apps oder in den Einstellungen deiner Apple-ID unter „Mit Apple anmelden“.
Wird anonymisiert	Nachrichten, die du im Chat von Metches anderer Personen geschrieben hast. Sie bleiben als „[deleted]“ stehen, damit die Unterhaltung für die übrigen Teilnehmenden lesbar bleibt — dein Name steht nicht mehr daran.
Wird aufbewahrt	Nur, was wir gesetzlich aufbewahren müssen. Die Fristen findest du in Abschnitt 6 der Datenschutzerklärung. Technisch bedingte Sicherungskopien werden turnusmäßig überschrieben.

Du kommst nicht mehr in dein Konto?

Schreib uns von der E-Mail-Adresse, mit der du dich registriert hast, an support@metchr.com mit dem Betreff „Konto löschen“. Wir prüfen die Anfrage und löschen dein Konto innerhalb der gesetzlichen Frist von einem Monat.

Hast du dich mit Apple angemeldet und dabei „E-Mail-Adresse verbergen“ gewählt, kannst du von der bei uns hinterlegten Weiterleitungsadresse keine Mail senden. Schreib uns in diesem Fall von deiner echten Adresse und nenne darin deinen Metchr-@handle zusammen mit der @privaterelay.appleid.com-Adresse aus den Einstellungen deiner Apple-ID, damit wir die Anfrage deinem Konto zuordnen können.
